Foreign call center spoofing a North American phone number.
I can not understand that there could be so many duct cleaning services in my city employing these types of companies for leads.... such that we get 1 or 2 of these calls every week! They do not respect the do-not-call legislation (being already on the list and additional requests to them to stop calling) and they will not divulge who the company is that they are booking appointments for.
This has to be some kind of scam instead.

Received a call from 551-236-6051 yesterday afternoon April 14, after 4pm. I picked up the phone and said nothing. An automated message was dropped, telling me the caller was James with the "IRS" and implied some threat if I didn't pay up, and he wanted to help me pay this debt off, so could I call back. I called back immediately, and stated "Thank you for your call - - from that I obtained your exact coordinates, and wanted to warn you a drone strike was going to occur within the next 30 minutes, repeat, a drone strike will occur in the next 30 minutes. Have a nice day - - asshole !" and hung up. To my immediate surprise, I didn't get a visit from local police at my home that night, although who knows.... In any event, the caller had a Pakastani or Indian lilt in his speech, it was not Baltic region European accent. These people are just rectal scum.......

A recording called my cell phone saying the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me. I couldn't imagine so when I got home I called them from my home phone. He sounded Indian and said his name was James. He also said he needed the phone number that he called me at.....duh! I thought that was very strange. And I wouldn't tell him my number and I said goodbye. I called information and they didn't have such a number...it is a SCAM to scare people...............

James with a India sound call said I have an error with me 2012 Federal taxes.
They have sent us a letter that we did not respond to so they are contacting us this way.
If We don't speak with them and give them our attorney information, they will have a police officer at our door in 45 minutes.
Have a CPA do my taxes and haven't moved in 45 years. Told him he was a scammer and we'd be waiting on the police officer. He hung up on us.

This number is an unknown number that keeps calling me after I blocked the first number telling me that they're the federal government and they're gonna give me an $8,000 loan that I'll never have to pay off. I listened to the entire phone call the first time, realized it was a scam and blocked the number. They got a new number and keep calling me. My husband told them to take me off their call list.

Got a reply from a craigslist ad and he substituted the 4 with a g. Westheimer as a road I could only find in Texas, not in Michigan where the item is. Here is the reply from the scammer:

I hit redial and at that point he gave me a fake name,using my last name, my address and said he was my husband and then started using profanities
so I hung up and began this research and hopefully will find someone to listen to me to shut down this scammer, criminal, and creep.

This was actually not a live person who called me, it was clearly an automated system programmed to respond to certain words said by whoever answers. When I asked if it was a live person, it disconnected. When I called the number back, I got (I believe) a live person and asked to be removed from their call list. *Note: I did this on Degree Advisor's website 2 weeks ago, and they apparently ignore it.

This person stated twice he was calling from the US government, and identified him self as James. The background noise made it very obvious he was calling from a call center. He did not get the chance to solicit any information but he did start speaking what sounded like a middle eastern language and asked me if I was familiar with Muslims. I did not engage the caller but told him he would be reported to the authorities immediately.
