This is just one of Comcast collection numbers, they also use 866-500-2439 and sometimes they will appear as "Anonymous". I'm sure they have more.
Six months ago, I called to cancel my service, (I only had internet service) but they made me an offer (too keep my service) giving me free TV and with select HBO channels, waiving the installation fee along with lowering my monthly cost by approximately $12.00 per month.
That didn't happen, I was charged $120.00 install fee, an additional $10.00 per monthly fee for an extra TV outlet, plus a $7.00 TV fee. So instead of my bill reducing by $12.00 per month, it actually increased by $17.00 per month. My fault, I should have known this was going to happen, it's not the first time it's happened.
Problem is, It's impossible to get these type pricing increases resolved over the phone, most times your get someone from overseas with broken English that it's impossible to communicate with, they will promise to correct the billing only to find out the next billing cycle it's still there and now additional late fees start accumulating. This is there method of operation "MO", keep you on the phone for hours at at time, pass you from one representative to another, where no one knows what the other has promised and it just continues month after month. There betting you'll finally just give up and pay the new pricing. It's how they work. It's a percentage game to them.
For those who are not aware, Comcast recent settled a multi-million dollar law suit for just this issue.
Rather than call to disconnect my service this time, I boxed up the equipment and dropped it off at one of their outlets. That's the fastest way to have it disconnected without having to deal with their retention department who will promise you the world to keep you from disconnecting.
Now, two days later, there collection department is calling relentlessly. I'm just waiting for there adjusted final billing, once I get it, I will be forwarding it to the law firm who sued them recently along with a copy of my complaint to the FCC. They will never get another dime from me!

I get home and see all these orange cables all over my front yard and got a $285 invoice stapled to my brand new cherry stained mahogany front door!
Upon further inspection I found my house on the side of my house was cut in half and the water was turned on full blast. My entire garage was flooded as it was left on for several days while I was away.
I was furious and called their office to make a complaint.
Some scank answered and denied that anyone had been out to my house to do an install.
She said I cancelled the install a week earlier so they never came out.
