This guy just ripped us off big time - I wish we had known about this scam before we foolishly went along with this ridiculous scheme.
He sent us a $2650 check for a bike we were selling on craigslist - said we could deposit the check, keep the balance for the bike, and use the rest to pay to have it shipped to him. We had to pay the shippers with Moneygram which we did, but then the check bounced, we lost all of our money (literally all of it), and still ended up paying this scumbag his 'free' money order. The research I've done shows that he has been doing this for years- i wish there was a way to stop him and hold him responsible for his crimes.

Looked it up and it is a vacant or off-the-market house.

He's a Craigslist scammer. DO NOT give this scammer any of your information as he is either selling it, or trying to hack your identity. Never respond to texts or emails with your listing title pasted asking if your "item" is still available as they are all scammers, every single one of them is a scammer

My ad on craiglist does list my phone number... but not all digits to try to lessen spam and scam. Says he's in USMC semper fi and wanting to buy my phone for his nephew overseas. Wants to pay me an additional $95 over my asking price to pay for shipping. I posted the ad in Mobile, AL and he says he lives here. But he's out of town for several weeks because of military. Lots of errors in typing and almost seems like he doesn't speak English well (if I were to actually speak with him). Says his name is Eric. After I said no Paypal account, he's pushing me to get an account. When I said no cash only in person, he sent the same exact three messages again. Read on several other sites that he is scamming other people

IT SAYS ITS A LAND LINE. I AM GOING TO PAY TO HAVE THIS CALL TRACED. IT COME UP A GO PHONE. SOMETHING, SAID TO SAY THE NAME AND IT WOULD CONNECT ME, AND I SAID DIANE, AND IT STARTED RINGING. BEWARE OF ANYONE ON CRAIGS LIST CLAIMING TO BE A FLIGHT DOCTOR UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE AIRCRAFT. FRAUD, AND IM GONNA DO MY BEST TO MAKE EM REGRET TRYIN TO GET ME.

The addresses are meaningless. He has mailed from North Texas according to several victims but uses various return addresses. Moneygram requires no ID nor an address so anyone with the reference number can get the funds virtually anywhere.
And to think that Uncle Sam is cracking down on money laundering?
