I also received several calls from them. When I voiced my rights and the laws they called me a "professional debtor". Would not give me an info on the debt and tried to get me to pay. They also threatened me with jail time. She told me I better hope they didn't pick me up before the holiday or I would be there til Monday. My lawyer called them back on a 3 way call and they said it was taken care of. When she tried to question the lady as to why they were harassing me, the lady hung up on us. Everyone needs to file a complaint with ftc.gov so we can stop them.

I received a call today saying I wrote a check to bank of America in 2013 which I dont even own a check book or have a account any where the lady said i missed a court date on Nov 3 but if I paid 496 it would take care of it when I asked for info and said I was getting a lawyer she got very nasty and hung up called back she did the same thing

I received a phone call on my cell from "697" and let it go to voicemail. Checked voicemail, told I was going to be served with lawsuit papers at my place of work or home but to call the plaintiff @ 866-531-9659. Called number, Lane Powell and Associates, then spoke to Veronica who was pleasant enough until I asked for verification of the debt which she promptly said that I had two choices, pay 50% now or get sued. Not only sued, but an appraiser would come by my residence and appraise it and they will force me to sell it. I asked again and she hung up. Called back and asked for their full legal name, address and a document verifying the debt and was hung up on again.

Received a call 000-000-0000 telling me to call 866-531-9659 because they had a summons for me. I called and after being on hold for approximately eight minutes a woman came on and said i owe this credit card company about 2200 dollars but if I pay today they will knock 1000 dollars off the bill. I told her I need some proof because I never heard of the company. Few seconds later she became nasty with me and threaten to freeze my assets and I see you in court. I called a few minutes later because I had a couple of questions for them. They didn't answer and ask them to call me back. They never did. I'm glad I looked up this website because I got alot of good information everyone. Thanks Alot!

It's a scam. If you call the # back and press 0 it redirects your call to another agency. They are looking for information... don't give them anything! Report them.

Dough called me several times leaving voicemails claiming they have papers to serve on me. I called them back and a recording answered as Lane Powell and Associates. I googled them, and could not find them as that company... I then called back to get their mailing address. They wouldn't give it to me and the guy screamed obscenities at me and all kinds of things. Please report these scammers so we can get them shutdown.

I got the call in Ohio today from "Mr. Stevens" at Lane Powell & Assoc. Called the number listed in one of the other comments and he confirmed scam and they work out of WA. Told me to call 1-800-551-4636 and report them.

This is a real company that is calling with a pre recorded messaging, threatening to have me served at my place of employment, which is illegal. They are accessing our credit reports to get our cell numbers to call and harass us. 2 years ago, I had another company do this to me, and I used the services of Consumer Law Firm and I was awarded 400 bucks for the harassment. http://consumerlawfirmcenter.com/

This site needs a "report scammer" link so people can complain with an effective way to stop the ABUSE and invasion of privacy. Also with today's technology, we should be able to reverse ID the "call source" and MASS SPAM the offending scammer. This would give them a taste of their own bad medicine.

they claim I owe money from 2006...shrug... what WE need to do is get an address for these scammer. Post it on the nets.. reason:
!. you can file la complaint with your state office of financial responsibility and they will shut them down....for now..
2. you can send a cease and desist lettter and legally they have to stop.. IF they keep it up, you can sue them.

This company is not related to the law firm by the similar name. The law firm has tried to get them to stop harrassing people with the Lane Powell name and we are as frustrated as all the people who get harrassed!
