I hung up and blocked his phone number.

Today I received a message on my answering machine from this same Mark Johnson from the Dept of Legal Affairs US Treasury saying the exact same thing. I was pretty sure from the get go that it was some sort of scam. I highly doubt that someone with an Indian accent would call and leave a message like this from the US Treasury. I'm sure they'd send a letter.

A man with a heavy accent that is hard to understand. Identified himself as Mark Johnson Working for the "Dept. of Legal Affairs at the U.S. Treasury" called and left a message on our answering machine called to inform me about some pending legal action against my daughter. He asked my daughter to return the call at the number stated and to also have her attorney call.

I received a similar message. Obviously, this is a scam. Ending with "have a blessed day" is a bit comical.

I came to this site to see if this number had been reported previously as a scam. Seems very unlikely that I would get a call from this department telling me I should call back or have my lawyer call before matters get worse.
Also coincedental that the gentleman was of Indian decent.
Im sure if its legit, I would receive a certified letter of some sort and not a threatening call.

I got the same call yesterday on my cell phone while at work for the SAME amount of money; scared the life out of me! He was saying "I have an officer on the line, witness to this call... officers are en route to my address (he read me my address)... the only way to stop this is to..." Then I hung up and received a call back number from "911". "911" doesn't call YOU, you call them lol. We caught them in several lies and then they just hung up. I tried calling them back numerous amounts of times and they'd just pick up and hang up. So strange...

same thing, this guy scared the shit out of me. Trying to arrest me, and told me I was already sentenced for 6 months in jail. Owning taxes of $4900.00.
Said they can suspend arrest if I paid an amount or something. They don't accept credit card over the phone. And asked me to drive to an Rite-Aid to purchase some money payments thing. Told me I can't hang up, drive to rite-aid, put cell-phone on speaker phone.
Luckily, my wife google search it's a fraud and told me in time, then all of a sudden I awake, and ask them to FXXK off, you fraud !

I received 2 calls from the same person who says that "I should not disregard this call because it is quite urgent and time sensitive" Although I moved almost 3 years ago and the mail might would be forwarded, there is no way they could have my new home number without my new address. Also should the IRS contact you, they do so by mail and also cross ref your address.

Trying to figure out who this is and where they are from. Got a random email from them and they won't give me any information but say I owe them money. I asked for documentation and asked him to read me my social and he went all around the question threatening me with saying if payment is not made the next day action will be taken. I asked for proof before I sent them any money but he stated that I needed to send money first and then he would send documents. Doesn't sound right to me because you would think they would send documentation.

I received an email dating that I had to call them regarding an outstanding cash loan I apparently took out in November 2012. And there was an attached "arrest warrant". I called the number given 8183961668 and a man with a heavy Indian accent answered. He said that if I didn't pay $622 by tomorrow I would have an arrest warrant out for me. He then continued to say that if I was arrested and went to court I would owe over $3000! I told him that I don't remember taking out a loan. He then said if I gave him $200 by tomorrow the "arrest warrant" would be dismissed. I told him I'm not currently working and had absolutely no money to my name. He preceded to ask me 3 times how much money I had. I told him $0.00 and he answered rudely "are you kidding me?!?". There is definitely something very sketchy about this. I plan on going to the police department to figure out what's going on.

Douchebag emails me and attaches a photo shopped "Arrest Warrant" out of Washington DC and then tells me to call a number out of Los Angeles County to get the "issue" resolved for which he has no evidence. Tells me that I stole from someone, and then changes his story once I tell him that I know he's not legit and has no idea what he's talking about. Swears at me and threatens me via email. Tells me that I owe him 622 dollars to get this supposed "arrest warrant" cleared before "I have trouble in my life and my job". Idiots.

They called me last week and said i was approved for a loan for 1500 dollars. Then they told me i would have to go get a greendot voucher to verify that it was me. The voucher is like 280 dollars that they want. I told them i was going to "think about it" and they should call me back later. Ms Williams really wanted to call me back at 1:30 so i just ignored the calls. I received a call maybe like a week or two later and the guy started his pitch off with the same you have been approved for a 1500 loan and i told him i had already spoken with them and i just want to be off their call list He became irate and said that i owed them 1500 dollars for a loan they approved and that he wanted his money. He said that monday they would begin court orders on me and i said okay and he hung up. After thinking over that he had threaten me with legal action i called back and asked him when did they give me 1500 and i not pay it back. He became defensive as he told me it was 2 weeks ago and i let him know that they never sent any money nor did i go and get a stupid greendot money voucher because they could verify me way differently. He told me that he would sue me and told me to shut up when i let him know that he was attempting to extort money from me by making false threats of legal action over agreements never met in the first place. He hung up the phone and so i called back and let him know that this is what his customers go through everyday when they are being harassed by these companies. He told me that he had been in the business 30 years, called me a carpet bagger(which is weird) and said that greendot is a billion dollar business. I told him that if he was not even able to tell me when they gave me the loan or how they gave it to me then he had no legal case at all and my bank statements( which he said would prove nothing) showed no deposit from their company. I even told him how payday loans are actually suppose to be done because i worked in the banking field and let him know that i would settle this in court if he wants but hes going to lose...A scam and fake debt collector ..do not fall for this

Caller said he was from Telus offering deals for business line asked personal questions and only wanted yes or no answers for some questions. I refused to answer and hung a few times on them and called my Telus provider afterwards and asked about this number and about our account and it was not a Telus representative.
