Person with the same name called me. They confirmed my address and said a legal case was opened against me and they informed me that today was the deadline for my case.
They said they sent me a letter to inform me of IRS fraud. They were very detailed with case number etc. Their English was very good.
When I called their bluff they shouted "we will send police to you to arrest you". At that point I knew for sure that it's a spammer because our U.S. government wouldn't behave like that (...at least I hope so :)

Susan called me to inform me that I have 3 charges against me & that the local police would be sent to my work to arrest me for tax evasion. She advised me that they mailed a letter on 3/22/15 & that today was the deadline for my case. I was transferred to Ava, a supervisor, because I did not receive any letters & I wanted to know what I have to do to dispute the case. They were very detailed & specific - they gave me names, department names, badge numbers, the case #, how much I supposedly owe. They asked me if I had ever been arrested, filed for bankruptcy, had foreign transactions, or parking/speeding tickets. I called my accountant & he said it was a common scam.

I had the same thing happen to me today...It's a scam artist phishing for information with claims of being an IRS officer. Beware as the caller will confirm letters were mailed and the situation must be resolved or the local police will receive your case (which an actual case number is provided over the phone). The caller will want to "prove that you're an honest person" by asking you 3 questions (any felony's, bankruptcy in the past, or traffic violations). She (Susan Davydov and/or Eva Fwafford) will tell you an amount and ask if you can remediate over the phone to prevent further action. If no, they threaten to have the policy at your employer site/home and seize all your possessions, bank accounts, etc., and place you in jail for 72 hours before you can have a hearing, ruin your credit, etc....It is a scam.
If the IRS calls you, I've been told they would confirm their name and agent number...But most often they do not call. The proper procedure is to mail information to your home address on record. Do not provide these scam artists any information...Just hang up the phone!
