They say they're tech support. THEY'RE A SCAM! They try to get a $200 credit card payment from you, and then ask to be allowed to remote in to your computer to 'remove viruses and malware'. They steal your money, infect your computer and sell your card number and identity to thieves. Block them!

Ransomware. Scam artists making you believe that your computer is full of viruses and you need to let them log into it and pay exhorbinant amounts of your hard earned money to clear up the make believe viruses. Do NOT give them any money. Force quit your computer and reboot your internet. Clear your cache and history and you'll be rid of them. Until they do it again - because they will. Obviously people are still falling prey to these scammers because they are only getting worse. So sad. To thank them for terrorizing you call their TOLL FREE number 1000000 times. It won't cost you a cent!!! But it will be much more effective than reporting them to the CRTC who will do NOTHING to stop them because they are scamming us from India. Make them so afraid to answer their phones that they will quit this ransom ware scamming job and go out and get a "real", honest, legal job like I choose to work at. Hey, guys, if everyone they tried to rip off just did this free, mindless, EASY thing they would STOP!!!!!!!!

Said he was tech support and that my pc had been hacked. I told him that I knew that this was a scam and hung up. I then called FBI and FTC both of which encouraged further phone calls to them from anyone else receiving these calls with the number that the scammer is using. You can get that from your caller ID. Even if you can't give the caller's info report it. We need to shut these jerks down!

Caller, with Aussie accent said My computer had a "bad file" and was sending out malicious messages. He know my last name, and when I asked which computer was the problem, he said, "Your personal computer." I told him I would have my computer guy take care of that for me, and thanked him for his info, As I was hanging up he was saying "No, NO, wait."
