These people who say they are Card Member Services are crooks running a scam. There are many such people running this scam so don't think this is just one company or that putting your name on a do not call list will have any effect. The object of the scam is to get your name and credit card number which they will then happily use leaving you will a bill. The last thing you should do is interact with these people. Simply do not answer these calls. What I do is keep a list of such names in my dumb phone memory under IGNORExx so I know not to answer if they call back. I hear there are apps for smart phones which prevent the phone from even ringing when an ignored number calls.

I have received multiple automated calls from this number on a business line, so I finally pushed the number to 'speak to a representative'. I asked who was calling, and they would not provide anything except "Card Member Services, your VISA, MasterCard and Discover provider". I asked for more information, and for a phone number, and nothing would be provided. I asked to have my number put on their DNC list, and was told "that would be impossible" and they hung up.

CAUTION! You should never call back any number you don't recognize. There is a scam that forwards your call out of the country to a very expensive number that plays elevator music for you. This number, if you listen to the recorded message, is simply the good old card member services scam which will try to get you to give them your credit card number which is something else you should never do!

I started getting these calls from card member services about lowering my credit card interest rates after i registered a visa gift card and they wont stop. I have pressed 1 or what ever to talk to someone and they either hang up right away or I play along. I have no credit cards so no credit card debit and no reason to reduce my rates when I have none. So I think it has something to do with the visa gift card I registered.

Card Member Services. THEY WILL NEVER STOP CALLING, SO... “GET EVEN”.
When they call press (1) to be connected to “LIVE OPERATOR” (this will waste their time).
They will try and get as much personal information from you as they can – GIVE THEM FAKE INFORMATION. I usually tell them I have 2 or 3 credit cards with a balance of 7k to 15k and interest rates from 15% to 21%, using this method will keep them on the phone longer and you can waste more of their time. At some point they will ask the name of the credit card, toll free customer service number and credit card number with exp. date (many times they will ask for the last 4-digits of your social security number) REMEMBER, DO NOT GIVE “REAL” PERSONAL INFORMATION OUT TO THEM AS THEY STORE AND SAVE ALL INFO.

Automated call at first that there is a problem your credit card and they can lower your interest rates. Instructed to push 1 so I did to humour the call. An gentleman from India came on the line and did not speak very clear english, even by concentrating with my eyes closed (it really helps you concentrate as I had several Indian college professors). After a few lines of info I asked him which credit card he was calling about and he said they credit card in your name. Again I said which one. He said "Your Chase credit card." I said I don't have one and he immediately hung-up. Seems like a scam to me. Beware!

First, they called with an automated message saying they were from Card Member Services to press 1 to lower credit card rates.
I pressed one and was speaking with someone, when I asked for what credit card company they were calling from (I have a few cards), they said VISA. They then asked how much CC debt I have and when I replied "zero dollars", they said "ok" and just hung up on me. Really wish I could find out what company this is.

This company has the auto dialer software from HELL! I get calls on my cell and home phone at least 6 times a week. I have filed numerous complaints at https://www.donotcall.gov
"Last chance to consolidate debt under Presidents relief program. Press 1 to lower your interest rate". When a human answers I say please remove me from your call list, but they hang up abruptly before I can finish my sentence.

I received an automated phone call from Cardmember services talking about final notice for my credit card...push #1 to speak to a rep...I pushed #1..a man came on the line and asked me how much credit card debt I had..I told him that I don't give out that information over the phone. He then proceeded to say "Do you think I am going to steal your identity by you giving me a random figure like that over the phone you fucking cunt!" then he hung up.. I tried to call the number back and received a recording that says" The voicemail service for this number is not yet set up".

automated system called. I went ahead and pressed 6 to get to a live person to find out the name of the company. They claim they are with cardmember services, servicing all nine hundred and something banks that issue out visa and mastercards. I played along until he asked for my credit card number and then got very irritated when I refused to give it to him. I told him I would call card member services directly to get the 3% interest and he told me they would not have the same special programs. Then i asked to be removed from his list and he started yelling so i hung up. This is a obvious scammer, you can hear others in the back ground.

Spread the word... My search indicated that this new number, (303) 217-1074 is being provided by a company called, MCI Metro Access Transmission Services whose d/b/a is Verizon Access Transmission Services (AKA: Verizon Business). I have filed complaints with the FTC several times, and did so again after getting 2 calls from this number, but this time, I decided to contact the provider of the number, after getting the full voicemail box notice for "Mike Anderson".
After calling Verizon's regular customer service number, I was directed to the Verizon Unlawful Call Center, which apparently is dedicated to these types of issues (link below). Unfortunately, I was 2 minutes too late (they close at 5pm), but I will definitely try again during regular business hours and suggest you do the same.

Received call from this number 1/19/11 at 11:55 a.m. Pressed 9 to speak to someone. A woman answered indicating she was with "Card Member Services" which represents all Visa and Mastercard accounts. She commented that a letter was sent out offering lower interest rates if I responded by a certain time - which I apparently did not. The special interest rate offer was supposed to expire in December but had been extended through January. When I continue to ask questions about where I could go to initiate this request or that I would follow up with my credit card companies, she rushed off the phone. I believe this was a phishing attempt as well.
