Caller said that my Microsoft software license had been cancelled and that I would not be able to use my "Microsoft PC". I could call this number and have it reinstated. This was a follow-up call from 261 267-0602. They said they were from Microsoft Tech Support and that my "Microsoft PC" had been downloading virus and corrupting Microsoft. They would help me remove the virus by telling me what to type into my "Microsoft PC". I told them I did not have a "Microsoft PC' and they said they would cancel my "Microsoft License". I have had this call aprox 19 times over the past several years. Usually someone with an Indian accent.

The call originated from 319-265-6665. The caller (accent sounded Indian, perhaps Pakistani) claimed to be from Microsoft "Protection," telling me that they wanted to give my elderly father a refund because their server had been down. As my father had been scammed three times, I asked for their number so I could call them back. I knew that he hadn't purchased any such software. I was sent to the supervisor, who gave me 410-567-0613 as his number. He said he'd wait on the line for me, and I told him I had other things I had to do. He accused me of "lying on" him, and I told him I thought he was a scam artist. He told me, "F**k you!" and I hung up at that point. I see that this number is registered to a "McLeod Telecommunications Services, Inc.." I believe it is indeed a computer scam factory.

Answered although I didn't recognize the number. Got a recording saying that my computer was sending out a lot of error messages and that I should hold for Microsoft technical support. Obviously a scam. I've dealt with these people before. They try to get remote access to your computer and if you do it you're toast. MS would never call anyone unsolicited like that. Block them.

I received 7 calls in one day with messages to call this number regarding my Microsoft license. When I called it, I asked repeatedly what it was about-I was told that my Microsoft license was expiring and parts of my system were being shut down, which would ultimately prevent me from logging into my computer. I followed this person's instructions to the point that he was transferring me to his "supervisor" to complete the update process. I asked multiple times what the end result was supposed to be, and whether or not it was a sales call. I was told repeatedly it was to remove things that hackers had gotten from my computer, and it was not a sales call. The supervisor came on the line, and then told me that he had control of my computer, and it would cost $249.00 to "fix the problems." He also said that if I hung up, or attempted to shut down my computer, I would not be able to log back into my computer. He hung up on me when I told him what he could do with it. I was able to log back into my computer, but am going to restore it to an earlier date when I get home.

I received a call from someone claiming to be Microsoft saying my computer was sending reports of spam attacks. This is totally bogus because Microsoft will not ever directly call you. The person wanted me to log onto my computer and allow them complete remote access to "fix" it. I said that it was not a real company and they hung up.

6 calls (from 2 different people with strong foreign accents) to my cellphone in last 2 days insisting that there is a problem with my computer. I said I didn't have an account with Microsoft - I have a Mac. The 1st caller quickly changed the story and said they were receiving error messages from my Mac. Today "Jennie" called while I was out and asked for a better time (when I would be at my laptop) so she could call back and help me resolve the problem. She called again at the appointed time and asked if we could work through the problem on my machine. II told her I knew it was a scam and I hung up.
My iPhone call record shows that the calls are coming from "Unknown" or 1-855-693-7638, a number cited on the internet as being used by scammers.

Reported to be from Microsoft. Called to tell us that one of our computers was infected with a virus. And if we are interested in fixing it. This raises the stakes in terms of what scammer are willing to do to get to your personal info. The call was routed through Jamaica. But most likely came some somewhere else.

On 11 Mar 2016, I received a suspicious call (311-923-5440) from a man with a Mideastern/Indian(?) accent claiming to be from Microsoft's Licensing Dept. The man stated someone has stolen my computer's License ID number, and for the past 15 days has been sending emails requesting donations in my name. I told him that I would need some form of evidence to verify that he was a Microsoft employee. He provided a callback number (866-383-1010) and gave me a 32-alphanumeric code which he claimed was my computer's license ID number. He then urged me to go onto my computer and he would provide me with another alphanumeric code that needed to be "Run" in order to verify my computer's License ID number. I told him that was not going to happen. He then transferred me to his "supervisor", who sounded an awful lot like the initial caller. The "supervisor" threatened that unless I cooperated, Microsoft would have to cancel my computer's License ID in order to stop the bogus emails. At that point, I said "Go for it" and hung up. Subsequently, I have confirmed that both phone numbers (311-923-5440 and 866-383-1010) are invalid, and this is definitely a SCAM!
