Caller claimed to be from Microsoft and was calling about my computer. called at 7:30 am!! Called several months ago to tell me that they were receiving error messages and my computer was going to crash. Told me where to look for the messages. ( Was an error log on my computer that is always there.) I pulled up number while he was on phone and saw that it was a scam. told him to remove my number. He told me he paid for my number and he would call me as many times as he wanted to. Never heard back from him again until this weekend. Called 3 times today. I will report to FCC now.

Can I just say what a reduction to scraeh out someone who truly is aware of what they're speaking about on the net. You definitely know methods to convey an issue to mild and make it significant. Extra folks must learn this and perceive this side of the story. I cant imagine youre no more in style because you positively have the treat.

Calls to try to get you to click on a fake link for ransom of your computer. Caller says your computer is throwing out spam and they are Microsoft. They even know your name when they call. Hang up and call Microsoft direct yourself like I did and they will inform you of this scam. Ask them why they are calling when you use Apple computers.

Correction: Asian Indian-accented female "Gloria" said she's from "WINDOWS" calling about MY infected computer. Heard many voices in background, likely other scam calls trolling for victims. Caller ID read "New York Call"

Called and telling me I have many errors on my PC, he was from Microsoft and wanted to help me. I hung up on him, he called back and asked why I hung up on him, he just wanted to help, if I didn't listen to him he said he would have to cancel my subscription with Microsoft. He called 4 times, very bold.

Claimed he was from Microsoft and that my computer was sending notifications of issues it was having. He said he was calling to assist in fixing the issues. He wanted to know if I was by my computer. I have my certifications in A+, Network+ and Security +, so I told him I am a computer tech and if my computer is having any issues, I will be the one to fix it. He wanted to know when he could call me back to ensure I had resolved the issues. I told him never as it would not be necessary. He then proceeded to tell me that he loved that I was a computer tech and that he loved me and wanted to know if I was single. I told him that I did not have time for his nonsense and hung up.

"Jim from Microsoft" called (Oregon, 541). He said my PC was commandeered by a virus and mounting an attack on the internet. Microsoft was concerned and was contacting me to help fix my PC. (He used the word "help" a lot.) I thought, OK, I'll play along but be careful not to reveal any personal info. He asked me to start eventvwr on my PC, and I asked him which one? He stammered for a bit and said the one running Windows Home. He asked me to identify Errors and Warnings... He was looking for 'something' but I was vague and it appeared aimless. After 20m, I asked him what's the point but he would just say he would get to that and reassure me he was there to help me. Finally, I asked him what was his name and he said "Brad Waltham" (which didn't match the callerid). When I insisted on a call back number he said "9-3" and then the line went dead. It was an entertaining 20m. I would have liked to know what was his scam.

I got a pop-up message purporting to be from Microsoft on my laptop computer. It stated that my computer had a security problem, so I should call Microsoft at 1-855-883-9893 to have it fixed.
Being suspicious, I did not call the number. The message was followed up by a pop-up "person" who was ready to chat about fixing the problem. I did not respond.

Scam. Said his name was Adam. Claims to be Microsoft Support. Claims passwords and identity are compromised. Claims the "problem" is more serious than a virus. Claims all computers in house and entire network are at risk. Offers one-time fix for $150.00 that must be paid by cheque. Scam. Scam. Scam. Although you do not allow calumnious or defamatory comments, it is precisely the reputation of the number calling and the reputation of the people behind it whom I do wish to injure. My only reason to share this information is for exactly that - to warn others of the scam being perpetrated by these dishonorable types.
