They just called me today with a very same info about a loan in the amount of $450 from August 2013. Said it would be over $2000 in legal fees if they pursue legal action but I could $450 today to settle the debt. I asked for there info to investigate and the woman Pamela James wouldn't give me anything saying I had until 5pm to let them know my response or the team would file.

It is clear that they are not legit - the fact that they answer the phone saying 'legal department' instead of with a company name is a dead giveaway.
I suggest reporting them to the FBI which is what I did when they called me.

I received call from this company stating I owed $500. they needed to settle this today for $500 otherwise going to court and fees would be over $2000. I asked for documention said they couldnt provide this to me and said the creditor is Fox Enterprises which I have never heard of. I said I am entitled to this documentation to prove I owed this prior to paying. she said no they cant do that. they wanted me to give them my credit card to take care of this. I am thinking this is a scam. she said this is not. she had a claim# and ss# and my address. Lost of what to do.

I've received several phone calls from this number 8666894426 and from another number 8662870281 calling themselves Stark Recovery. Stated I took out an on line payday loan from Bel Capital Corp and if I didn't pay right away they'd take me to court. I changed my debit card and when called again from the second number refused to give them any info and wouldn't pay them. I didn't own a computer back when this scamming company said I took out the loan. Pretty hard to take an on line payday loan without a computer. I am refusing to answer calls now. They said they're in Bakersfield, CA. The Stark Agency is based in Wisconsin and is not called Stark Recovery but Stark Agency. I now have lifelock and will file reports to the Atty, General and possibly the FBI. My bank is very aware of the situation and lifelock as well.

I've been called numerous times by this phone number 866-287-0281. Researched phone number, it's actually from a payday loan compony on the internet called MaxLend Loan Official, not Stark recovery as I have been told. I unfortunately did get scammed out of some money, but when doing research on the bank statement, the money did not go to Stark Recovery but some obscure initials and to the GB (Great Britain) UK (United Kingdom). When I answered the phone the other day, from a different number I was called from initially and got scammed out of some money, had already closed my debit card and had a new one issued, purchased Lifelock,(from phone number listed above) refused to give them any information. They do have social security number, current address and was given the first number from a friend who was being harrassed by this so called Stark Recovery and told me to call them. She did not have the name of the company that had given her this number for me to call, 866-6894426. I was threatened with a law suit if I didn't pay. The same threat the second time when I refused to give any info. The Stark Reovery official site says Stark Agency and is based in Wisconsin. These people told me they're out of Bakersfield, California and they contract their billing with a company in England when I asked them about the weird billing. The English pound is stronger than the American dollar. Who would contract with a company where their money is worth less which means they'd have to pay the company more money? Thank God for the internet's ability to research things, and Lifelock for further protection. Don't fall for the crap. I never took a payday loan from an on line company called Bel Capital Corp. which is the company I supposedly took a payday loan out with and they're recovering the money. I didn't even own a computer in Sept. 2013 which is when I allegedly took out an on line payday loan with Bel Capital.
This site has saved my money from further scamming and helped me to arm myself with protective measures.

I've called the FTC, but should I also call FBI? They are calling my parents numerous times a day, calling my work asking to speak to my supervisor, and calling my cell phone. They will not stop. I even told them to take me to court. When I asked for documentation, they said they could not do that. They even declined to give me their business license number when I asked.

Girl named Sky Daniels called. Same thing. Almost got me because I took out a pay day loan in 2013, but I had paid it off. Had my SS# and bank name. After reading reviews, I told them to F off. Good luck to everyone who has to deal with this BS.

This company called me saying I took out a pay day loan for $2430 in 2013, which I never did. They have called my ex-husband and his son trying to track me down. When I spoke to the young lady she said they will take me to court. I said go ahead I never too out the loan and they will hear from my attorney and she hung up on me. I believe this info was retrieved through Blue Cross/Blue Shield being hacked. They have so many peoples information. I called the FBI and also calling the consumer bureau of investigations once they open on Monday. Make sure you contact your bank and credit card companies as well as all three consumer credit agencies to do a fraud alert.

I just received a call from Stark stating I took out a $300 payday loan in 2013. I continuously told them I'd never used a pay day loan. They never stated my current employer or address @ that time, however said a name of a co-worker who was listed as my manager. When I explained there information was incorrect they became hostile and began telling me if I did not pay $400 today, I'd have to go to court and pay $2,430. I'm very concerned as they have my ssn, this is really scary, I will contact the FBI as soon as I get a break.

Stark Recovery called my parents unlisted home number and 3 sons and a daughters cell phones. One person actually spoke to my son and gave him all my personal information rift over the phone! This really has me concerned. Unthinking of looking into this as a scam sort of thing.

Family ( sons, daughter in law, and elderly parents) received multiple calls from Stark Recovery since end of November. I called today, spoke to a Tori Glover who said I owed $350 from payday loan from Nov. 2010. I could pay $2500 to take it to court or pay $455 to settle. Required $25 down and $105.50 every payday from my bank Visa card till debt paid off in Feb 2016. Opted to settle. Was informed all collection calls would stop and an email agreement would be sent. Another son received call this afternoon from same agency,7 hrs later! And still no email agreement. I'm calling back tomorrow. Has anyone ever paid this agency?

I have had two calls from this company tonight. One on my Government cell phone and one on my house phone. They had all my information from SSN, last four of bank account. Only thing is I never heard of the loan company. Called the real Stark Agency and was informed of the scam. They refused to send me any information until they had secured a source of payment from me.

Said I was defaulted on a payday loan. Said I had two options where I could either 1) let it go to court where I would have to pay $2,550 or I could B)accept a lump settlement of $550 dollars. Said I took a payday loan from Twin Bluffs Financial. Researched both companies and the Stark Recovery group has been ID'd as a scam by the Stark Collection Agency and many others. The original creditor is no longer in buisness according to BBB. I informed the company of my findings and stated again that I do not have a loan from Twin Bluffs Financial. Asked for a letter of verification which if they are a legitimate debt collector they are required to provide. The rep refused. I firmly stated that I did not have a loan from the creditor. They said they have my application here and was awarded in July of 2013 $400. They listed an employer and bank account that was supposedly filed. They were wrong as I never applied for a loan in 2013 and the employer listed was not my employer until 2014. The bank account listed did not even exist until 2015. They retorted that during discovery they updated the information they found. I asked them why they would put this new information on their copy of an application I supposedly filled out. Refused to answer and stated that they would take this to court for the sum of $2,550. Hung up on me. I have filed complaints with CFPB, FTC, Attorney General's Office and the FBI Internet Crimes Division

I had a call from Stark and said I made a $350 payday loan to Horizon Opportunities LL in April, 2012. If I did not pay today $510 for past due amount and interest They would be filing legal recourse. They too had my address and Ss#. I requested proof and they told me the proof would be in Court. I've never made a payday loan. I'm a member of Lifelock and they looked in to it and said it is a scam. Beware!

She said she had a claim against me for a payday loan check that was returned from my bank account in June 2013 in the amount of $300. If I did not pay it now, she would proceed with legal action and I would have to pay almost $3000. She said she was in the legal department for Stark Recovery. She indicated the payday loan was with Hiland Holding. She had my social security number and banking information and wanted me to verify it as well. These people need to be stopped!
